Tech pack review

We mark what a factory will question in your tech pack.

Send the pack you already have, from any designer, template or tool. We read it the way a factory sample room does and send back a marked-up PDF, a list of gaps ranked by severity, and an offer to fix them.

How a review is done

Your pack, read by a technical designer.

We read every page against the questions a factory will ask, mark it up, and rank what is missing by severity.

  • Printed reference photos spread on a table around a laptop
    Read the packPrinted references
  • Overhead view of hands sorting printed sketches, fabric swatches and reference photos on a table
Compare with the sampleSorting references from a brief
  • Measuring the sleeve of a black jacket with a tape measure
    Check the measurementsMeasuring the sleeve
  • Team at a white table reviewing flat sketches and color swatches, with flats pinned on the wall

What you get back

A marked-up PDF, not a vague opinion.

Every comment is pinned to the exact spot on your page, numbered, and repeated in a gap list your designer or factory can work through line by line. Hover or tap a finding to see where it sits on the page.

On a real review the gap list covers every page of the pack, and each finding says who usually fixes it: your designer, your factory or us.

The gap list

Every gap ranked by what it costs you.

The list is grouped the way a production manager reads a pack: what stops a quote, what burns a sample round, what can wait. Fix the first group first.

Blocker

4 examples

The factory cannot quote or cut without it.

  • Points of measure without a measuring methodChest measured where? Length from HPS or from the neck seam?
  • No size range, or sizes the table does not gradeHeader says XS–XL, the table stops at L.
  • Fabric not identifiedNo composition, weight or construction for the shell.
  • A view the construction needs is missingNo back view on a garment with a yoke or back pockets.

Sample risk

4 examples

The factory will guess, and the sample comes back wrong.

  • Tolerances missing or unrealistic±0.5 cm on a rib cuff, nothing on a body length.
  • Stitch type, stitches per inch and seam finish not given“Topstitch” with no stitch, thread or distance from edge.
  • Trims listed without size, finish or placement“Zip” with no length, gauge or puller.
  • Label and print placement without measurements“Print on chest” with no size or distance from HPS.

Tidy-up

4 examples

Worth fixing before bulk, not before the first sample.

  • Units mixed on one pageCentimeters in the table, inches in the notes.
  • No revision number or dateTwo versions in the factory’s inbox, no way to tell them apart.
  • Colorway names that do not match the BOM“Sand” on the flat, “beige” in the materials.
  • Page order a sample room will not followMeasurements before the flats they refer to.

The team behind every pack

Real people draw every tech pack.

Our studio team in the USA drafts every flat, measurement and note, and answers your revision rounds by email. No template generator, no guesswork.

  1. Team at a table reviewing printed sportswear flats and color swatches, with the designs on a screen behind Reading a brief with flats and swatches
    01

    We read your brief

Sketch, reference photo or sample: someone on our team reads it and replies within 24 hours with the tier, the price and the timeline.

  2. Tech pack page with front, side and back technical flats of a raglan active t-shirt Example page
    02

    We draw the flats

A technical designer draws every view to proportion, with numbered callouts for each seam, stitch and trim.

  3. Vest tech pack page with front and back flats, a graded measurement table and a bill of materials Example page
    03

    We grade and spec

Measurements graded across your sizes with a tolerance on every line, plus the bill of materials and construction notes.

  4. Technical designer kneeling to measure the inseam of a fit model with a tape measure Measuring the inseam on a fit model
    04

A second person checks every measurement

Before delivery, someone who did not draw the pack checks every point of measure against the flats. Then 2–3 revision rounds by email.

Example pages are shown with the brand removed. Photos show the kind of studio work behind each step.

How the review works

Three steps, then you choose who fixes it.

You keep your pack and your designer. The review tells you exactly what to change; the fix-it option is there if you would rather hand that over too.

  1. 01Your side

    Send your pack

The PDF (or the source file), photos of the sample if one exists, and the factory’s questions so far. We sign your NDA first if you ask.

  2. 02Our side

    We mark it up

A technical designer reads every page the way a sample room does. A second person checks the findings before you get the marked-up PDF and the gap list.

  3. 03Your choice

You fix it, or we do

Hand the gap list to your designer or factory, or choose the fix-it option: we correct your file, or quote a full rebuild if the pack needs one.

What it costs

  • Review$99 per styleMarked-up PDF + gap list by severity.
  • Fix-it option$149 per styleAfter the review, we make the fixes in your file.
  • Full rebuild$299 per styleWhen the pack is missing too much to patch: a new full tech pack.

Yes. We review the file, not who made it. Packs from templates and generators get the same read, with extra attention to measuring points and tolerances. There is also an honest comparison on our AI generator vs studio page.

Blocker: the factory cannot quote or cut without it. Sample risk: the factory will guess and the sample may come back wrong. Tidy-up: worth fixing before bulk, not before the first sample.

No one can promise what a factory will say. The review removes the questions we can see in the file, so the factory’s questions are about price and capacity, not missing information.

$99 per style. We confirm the scope by email before any work starts. If the pack needs a full rebuild, we say so and it becomes a full tech pack at $299 per style instead.

If you want us to. The fix-it option is $149 per style: after the review, we make the fixes in your file. You can also hand the gap list to your own designer or factory.
