Who is responsible for your data

GarmentSpec (“we”, “us”) is responsible for the personal data described here. For anything about your data, email garmentspec@gmail.com.

This policy covers this website, the forms and free tools on it, the services you buy from us and the emails we exchange with you. It does not cover the websites we link to.

What we collect and why

We only collect what we need for the thing you asked for. Here is every place data comes in:

Brief form

Free tools

Purchases

WhatName, email, billing country or address, what you bought and payment status. Stripe handles your card: we never see the full card number.WhyTo deliver the service, send receipts and keep tax records.BasisOur contract with you and our legal duties.

Your tech pack files

Website analytics

If you decline, Google Analytics only receives anonymous signals without cookies, which cannot be linked to you.

Visit history (only if you accept cookies)

WhatWhere your first visit came from (for example a Google search or a link on another site), the first page you saw, how many visits, the last pages you viewed and actions such as using a free tool. It is stored in your own browser, with no name or email.WhyWhen you send a brief, sign up or buy, this history is attached to it, so we know which pages and channels actually help brands. We do not use your data for automated decisions that affect you, we do not build advertising profiles, and we never sell your data.

International transfers

Our studio team is in the USA, and the services we use (for example Google and Stripe) may process data in the United States, the European Union and other countries. Where EU or UK data protection law applies, transfers are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or by Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

Briefs and emails

Up to 24 months after our last contact, unless you become a client.

Client, order and invoice records

As long as tax and accounting law requires, up to 10 years.

Cheat sheet sign-ups

Until you unsubscribe, or up to 24 months without any contact.

Analytics

Up to 14 months, then deleted or kept only as anonymous totals.

Visit history

Up to 90 days in your browser. Once attached to a brief or sign-up, it is kept with that brief or sign-up.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

• show you the personal data we hold about you and send you a copy;
• correct data that is wrong or out of date;
• delete your data, where we are not required to keep it;
• stop sending you emails (every email has an unsubscribe link, or just reply “stop”);
• stop other uses of your data based on our legitimate interest, or withdraw a consent you gave.

Email garmentspec@gmail.com. We reply within 30 days and may ask you to confirm your identity first. We don’t treat you differently for using these rights.

US residents: if you live in a state with a consumer privacy law, such as California, you have the rights that law gives you. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. EU and UK residents: you have the rights in the GDPR, including data portability, and you can complain to the data protection authority where you live or work.

Cookies

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We keep them to a minimum:

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and stop Google Analytics on every site with Google’s opt-out add-on. To change your choice on this site, use “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page. The site works the same without them.

Security

The site runs over HTTPS, payments go through Stripe’s certified systems, and only the people who work on your tech pack can see your brief and files. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach ever puts your data at risk, we tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

Children

This site is for brands and businesses. It is not aimed at anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects how we use data you already gave us, we tell you by email first.
