About the studio

A tech pack studio. One job, done properly.

GarmentSpec is a small tech pack studio. Our studio team in the USA works by email with fashion brands that manufacture anywhere.

We write the tech pack your factory quotes and sews from. We do not manufacture, place production or take a cut of your run. You send a sample, a reference, a sketch or an idea, and we send back one PDF any factory can open.

Our studio team in the USA reads every brief, draws every flat, measures every point and checks it twice. Each step has its own role, and every pack passes through all of them.

What we stand for

They decide how we price, what we tell you before you pay and how much care a single style gets.

    No commission, ever

    One flat fee, paid by you upfront. No cut of what your factory charges for the run, whichever factory you use.

  • Rule 02 · Honesty2

    Honest answers before you pay

    If a design won’t translate well to production, we say so before you pay for a revision round. We would rather lose the order than ship a spec that doesn’t work.

  • Rule 03 · Scale3

    Any batch size, same spec

    The spec does not change with your order size. One sample or a full collection gets the same category checklist and the same attention.

    Brief reader

    Reads your sketch, reference photo or sample and replies within 24 hours with the tier, the price and the timeline.

    Technical designer

    Draws your flats for every view to proportion, with numbered callouts for each seam, stitch and trim.

    Grading and spec

    Grades the measurements across your sizes with a tolerance on every line, and writes the bill of materials and construction notes.

  2. Days 1–5 · Drafting

    1. Category checklist

      Per garment

      Denim, activewear, knitwear, tailored and print-led pieces each get their own checklist, so nothing a factory asks about gets missed.

    2. Construction detail

      Flats, POM, BOM

      Seam types, stitch detail and finishing are called out on the flats, not left for the factory to guess. Points of measure get tolerances; the bill of materials lists every trim.

  3. After the first draft

      We do not call it done until it reads clean. Questions from your factory after delivery are covered inside the included rounds.

      Delivered in a format any factory can open and quote from. Yours outright, no licensing and no back-and-forth to clarify the basics.

The details a spec has to get right.

Stitch type, seam finish, trim placement. A factory sews what the page says, so these go on the page, drawn and measured.

The photo is a construction reference, not a client order. Example pages are shown with the brand removed. Drawn callouts use example values.
